The upscale and quaint city of Del Mar, California is home to 4,161 people. This coastal city is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in all of California. Perhaps, this is how the town got it’s name, Del Mar…meaning “of the Sea.” The Beach Boys even mention “You’d catch em surfin’ at Del Mar,” in their famous song, “Surfin’ USA.” The famous Del Mar Racetrack brings thousands of spectators each season. The racetrack got it’s start in 1937 and has been a playground for many Hollywood stars since. Del Mar is also the home of the San Diego Fair each summer bringing locals and out of town visitors alike. Torrey Pines Golf Course is also part of Del Mar’s local attractions famous for the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA tour.
